Many bloggers are unaware of how to verify their technorati claim token. This post will attempt to answer how you can claim and verify your blog on Technorati using the unique code they generate for your blog. For instance, Technorati assigned claim token number for Electric Ego is PU89WGPJ7SXV

All you have to do is to put your unique token number in a new post and publish it. You could place the code anywhere in the post (generally it is preferred to keep within the first few lines or within excerpt). You can even make a new post, something like Technorati claim or Technorati verification and placing just the claim token code as content in the post. It does not have to be in Title even. Once you have published the post with the token in it, visit http://technorati.com/account/.

Sign in to your Technorati account. Under your profile page, you should notice Technorati cliam status and a button to verify claim token. Click on ‘verify claim token’ and Technorati will go and look for unque code in your blog. If all goes well, Technorati will visit your blog, find the token and verify it.

You may sometimes get an error message with Technorati mentioning that “we have encountered a problem reading your site’s data.” If that occurs, make sure your claim code is correct and is reflected in your blog’s RSS feed. For blogs, having feed excerpts enabled, make sure the code appears in excerpt.

I am pleased at few things that have been happening with this Blog. Comments have started pouring in, infact got my first comment within few hours of first blog post. Google bot is loving the blog as if electrically mesmerised by it. They have indexed it pretty fast. Good job Google! Also, I am trying to find time to update it more often I can. Finding time in a hectic schedule gets difficult sometimes especially when you’re not managing it well yourself. I have been trying to get more organised lately but have failed pathetically.

Three good things for the day.
I am glad to announce that Electric ego is now on Technorati, on Twitter and the egoistic electronic feeds are being managed by Feedburner. Not inclined towards facebook yet.

What is Technorati?
Technorati is an Internet search engine for searching blogs. By June 2008, Technorati indexes 112.8 million blogs and over 250 million pieces of tagged social media.[2] The name Technorati is a portmanteau of the words technology and literati, which invokes the notion of technological intelligence or intellectualism. I came in contact with Technorati somewhat 3-4 years ago. Not sure if these guys are that popular as they have once been. Anyway, I like the great name though.

They will claim this blog in a few days.

What is feedburner and does it really burn your feeds?
FeedBurner is a web feed management provider. FeedBurner provides custom RSS feeds and management tools to bloggers, podcasters, and other web-based content publishers.
You may call Feedburner a feed “enhancer”. It takes your default blog feed, and adds more functionality to it without you having to modify it yourself.

FeedBurner receives your blog’s original feed data and then serves as a feed “front” for your readers by providing a new feed URL (uniform resource locater, or website address). FeedBurner adds in all this cool functionality for yourself and your readers via this replacement URL. The benefit of this for your readers is that it’s easier to subscribe and interact with your blog. The benefit for you is that you can view data about how many subscribers you have and how they’re interacting with your blog. Feedburner was acquired by Google in the year 2007.

Subscribe to Electric Ego blog feeds here:- http://feeds.feedburner.com/ElectricEgo

What is Twitter?
There are little chances that you have not heard about Twitter. If you have, no need to read on further. If not, twitter is the latest craze in social networking. One of its kind of service which almost everyone seems to be using from Politicians, Bureaucrats, Movie stars, Celebrities, your Colleagues to the girl next door! (Looks like you’re the only one left behind, huh?)

Since I love micro-blogging, we can also say Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author’s profile page and delivered to the author’s subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or external applications.

You can follow Electric Ego on twitter here: http://twitter.com/egoelectric (sadly electricego was not available on twitter )

That’s it for now. Diwali is nearing and this week has been pretty stressful. Waiting eagerly for the weekend. Happy Diwali Everyone!
