Feeling absolutely amazing right now while listening to and posting this song here on the blog. Likhe jo khat tujhe is an evergreen song from the movie Kanyadaan, one of my all time favorites. Beautiful soul-touching poetry, great composition and sensational singing of Rafi makes it a class apart. Likhe jo khat tujhe vo teri yaad mein hazaron rang ke nazaare ban gaye…you cannot sum it up better a feeling for your loved one than in these two lines. I will paste a download song link sometime later. For now, close your eyes, cut yourself off of any distraction & immerse in this song like I am doing right now.

Love dard ki saari tahein aur saare guzre haadase, sab dhuan ho jayenge ek waaquiya reh jayega. The singing beautifully compliments the emptiness in life feeling that comes from the lyrics Tu nahi toh zindagi mein (There would be a vacuum in life without you).

Love the part where it says Ye badal aisa toot ke barse, Mere dil ki tarah milne ko tumhara Dil bhi tarse, Tum niklo ghar se. I don’t have words to describe the feeling. Phir kisi shakh ne phenki chhaon (chhanv) is another beautiful song from the movie Libaas directed by Gulzar, sung by Lata. Sadly, the movie was banned by the Censor Board of India and could never be released because its considerably bold subject at that time. The songs, all of them are timeless classics. I wrote about Sili hawa chhoo gayi a while back, this time it is another gem Phir kisi shaakh ne fenki chhanv.
